Wasatch Preschool Curriculum

Our Creative Curriculum is used in many Utah kindergartens, making the transition from preschool to kindergarten smoother. Based on research that shows young children learn best through play, our students spend:

  • 1/3 of each day focused on academic discussion/exploration during "circle-time" and small group activities, and

  • 2/3 of each day in free-choice activities both inside and outside, where an ideal learning environment is created to enhance children’s play.

 Meet theTeacher Movement and Meditation

Miss Haley has her Bachelors of Science in Economics with a Minor in Business from the University of Utah. She has an extensive background in dance starting with Virgina Tanner, and continuing through various schools through her teen and adult years. After moving to central Washington, she created and taught Pink Tutu’s, a creative movement class for toddlers. In 2014 Haley and her family moved back to Utah and was thrilled to continue teaching creative movement at The Dance Company. Since 2015 she has worked at the Montessori Community School teaching movement to both preschool and elementary school age children. She has loved creating her own curriculum using Montessori Methods infused in movement and self-expression. Last year she also used meditation in the yellow room and found it to be most effective in settling young minds especially in helping preschoolers control emotions and gaining body awareness. Haley is a mother of three (one of which attended WPP eight years ago). She is very excited to teach movement and meditation this year!

 Meet theTeacher Art Expression

Miss Stacy has her Bachelor's in Art Eduction from Boise State University. She is also a certified Special Education teacher who taught Special Education English classes at the Junior High level for 9 years. Along the way she has done her own artwork and taught private art lessons to kids. After having two sweet kids of her own, she stayed home with them until they were in school. Now she is teaching preschool at WPP in the Red room and is loving it! Her love of Art and of teaching kids has always been important to her! She is excited to offer this art class to the sweet kids of WPP!
